Emily Horgan recently joined her two sisters (Ally and Maya), brother (David) and father (Mike) at H&S Protection. She started her career as a music teacher for grades K-6, dedicating five years to this role before recognizing she needed a change for her mental and physical well-being. “It was a difficult decision to leave, as there were many parts of the job that I loved, but I am enjoying this new chapter in my life,” she said.
Since her father owns the business, she’s known about the company her whole life. “It was started by my great-grandpa. I began working for H&S this past August (2025). I’m the last of my siblings to join the family business,” she said.
Emily’s official title is Administrative Support, but her role spans beyond that. On any given day, she might be collaborating with her sisters on marketing projects, supporting lead generation efforts, checking monitoring alerts to help the service team stay ahead, or helping bring internal campaigns and events to life. She enjoys the variety that comes with supporting so many different parts of the business.
Emily’s family, in addition to her dad and siblings, includes her mother Lori, partner Zak, and two cats, Tigger and Roo. Like others in the Horgan family, Emily is musically inclined and likes to sing and play the piano. She also enjoys playing ultimate frisbee with her friends, doing arts and crafts, and spending time with her favorite people (and cats).
“At risk of being biased,” Emily said she’d tell a prospective customer that “H&S is a great company with a lot of expertise and wonderful people ensuring its success. My favorite thing about H&S is the people that work here. There is not a single person I don’t enjoy working with.”
