Your Business Location

A number of years ago, we heard of a break-in spree west of Waukesha in Wisconsin, along I-94 and Route 83 in Delafield. Multiple businesses had been hit during the burglaries.

The types of businesses affected by the crime ranged from a lawyer’s office to an acupuncture service to a business that provided cleaning services for fleet vehicles. Not much was taken except the peace-of-mind of these small businesses.

We did meet with most of them in the ensuing weeks to discuss the protection they had in place, and any concerns to improve their security moving forward.  The takeaway from those meetings was that criminal behavior can be unpredictable in terms of who might be targeted, but there are some common factors that can increase susceptibility.

For example, areas along major highways can be “softer targets” because they’re more easily accessible and offer multiple directions for quickly getting away.

Regardless of your facility location, you can never be too careful.  If you run a business, there are security risks. Sometimes they’re more obvious; sometimes not.

Getting together with one of our experts can help you assess these risks and determine if installing security technology makes sense.
