When someone reaches the magic 65-years-old number, most of us think of retirement. At H&S, we are completing our 65th year of being in business, and going strong, looking at what’s next, connecting with our customers to see what they are looking for in the years ahead.
Looking back on 1959, when we began our business by offering fire extinguisher sales and service, we’ve never stopped looking at “what’s next,” how we can meet evolving needs on the fire protection front, then security services. If you take a moment to read up on our history, you will find an evolution in both products and services offered by H&S over the years.

We innovate, and we also respond to market forces. When COVID hit four years ago, supply chain challenges became one of our toughest hurdles to surmount. We figured out the necessary adjustments, kept in close contact with our customers, worked our way through it, and are coming back strongly.
If you look at the development and growth of alarm systems, the entire market is different than it was 15-20 years ago. Interactive connectivity and wireless communications affect much of what we do and create additional options that we can offer to our customers. We maintain a well-trained staff to ensure they are up-to-date with these technological changes so they can discuss your best options from a position of knowledge.
For over 65 years we’ve innovated, adjusted and grown. It hasn’t been easy. Anyone who runs a small- to medium-sized business understands the difficulties in managing market forces and changes, along with career paths for your people, good wages, superior customer service and a positive work environment.
We plan for the long haul. Our goal is to maintain the values and backbone mentioned earlier in this post. We’re excited to see what the next 65 years bring.
