If you don’t participate, you can’t contribute. If you don’t participate, life (or business opportunities) can pass you by.
At H&S, participation is an important part of who we are. In fact, our mission statement includes a whole section highlighting how we aim to participate in our community:
“[To our community we will] offer time and talents to support and participate in action groups, educational programs, and other community projects. [We will] operate our company ethically and sustainably, and strive to be a positive influence in all communities that we serve.”
Participating locally, statewide and nationally in multiple organizations allows us to learn not only about security best practices and the latest technology, but also about the people and communities we serve.
In just the first six months of 2026, we have participated in the Portage County Business Expo, ADI in Chicago, Electronic Security Expo (ESX), and multiple meetings of the Wisconsin Security Association (WISA). These opportunities require an investment of both time and resources, but they’re an investment in our people, and ultimately in providing better service to our customers.
While these events can lead to new business opportunities, our participation is driven by something much bigger. Being seen in the communities we serve, getting to know experts in the security industry, and providing customers with the opportunity to interact with our team are all valuable outcomes of our participation in security, business and community events.

Some of our most valuable learning opportunities come from conversations with the people in our communities. We want to hear about your security concerns, and about what’s working well (or not so well). Talking to you helps us better understand your needs so that we can continue improving our products, services, and the way we support our customers.
